H1N1 Prevention Information

Sledge is hockey just the same as stand up hockey. As this is the case it is important that all sledge players follow the same H1N1 prevention steps as all others in the arenas. Hockey Canada has put out a list of recommendations which can be viewed here.
Some of the main points from this article include:
  • Players should be urged to report all illnesses to their parents and the safety person/trainer.
  • Parents are urged to keep their children away from the arena if they are showing any signs of infectious disease. Sick players are encouraged to go to the doctor and be completely healthy before returning to play.
  • Each player should have their own water bottle labeled with their name
  • Hand washing or use of hand sanitizer is recommended after handling hockey equipment
  • Instruct everyone to cover their mouth when they cough by using their arm
The health of all participants, support staff, and families is very important and we ask that everyone be vigilant for the health and safety of all.

Info - Travel to U.S.A.

Just as a reminder to all clubs for the comming season that all travel to the U.S.A. will require a passport. This has been in the pipeline for a while now and is finally coming into effect. Make sure all the players on your team have a valid passport for future trips into the U.S.A. so that no one is turned away at the border.
